just letting you know that the new ER6N does have a slight wiring problem in some bikes... some of the wires under the tank are being squashed and earthing out causing a perfectly good bike to just shut the hell down.. also causing the owner to cry on her son and be cranky at work... being such a good son he begged the guys with head hung low " please just fix it".. what a good boy... well the crew at race replica in brooklyn were as good as ever, with there after sales service being impecable... well done race replica, Im one happy camper.....

Ask Mario about getting his bike serviced there and what they didn't do with one of the front brake calipers (and why I haven't been there since).

well ratmick, all I can say is I have always had great service from them, my services have been great and the guys very honest with me... so I feel they have done right by me..... I would recomend them....

I'm not saying you didn't get great service from them, and yes it may have been an isolated incident, but if you leave one front caliper of anyone I know's front brakes loose (so loose it falls off while the person involved was riding in traffic) I'd be taking my business elsewhere. You don't normally walk away from that sort of negligence, never mind walk away pain-free (and if it happended to me, probably needing clean underwear).

...Although in fairness I did move up to Woodend at roughly the same time, and it's a right-royal pain for me to get to/from now. So although they probably deserve a second chance (there's not that many Kawasaki dealers out there) it's unfortunately not really an issue .

FWIW I've also had a crap and possibly dangerously negligent experience at another well-renowned Melbourne shop but I gave them an earful (and another member gave them a bollocking) and the last time I took my bike in it was spot-on (and they'll get my business next time, plus probably my next bike).

well lets hope it was a isolated incident and that it never happens to anyone ever again.. thank goodness noone was hurt (presumtion), I suppose everyone has a horror storie or two to tell about all types of mechanics.... which in my books is pretty sad... we all make mistakes a, but hopefully not at the xpense of others!!! but is all good now hey!

Yes, you're right there it seems to have been an isolated incident. I'm pretty harsh on them but having a caliper hanging in the breeze while riding would freak me out big time.

Anyway they can't be that bad or they'd be out of business by now .

Anyway, welcome! Someone has already said it, but it's good to see a ER-6N on the list. I sat on one back in December...nice bikes, although not as short as expected. Ok for me, I'm about 5'6" and heavy enough to load the suspension.

Alas the short and petite girls who were hoping for a sympathetically heighted bike from Kawasaki will have issues.

Glad it was sorted so Quickly DreamChikky, dont get wet sweetie you nickname could get a little cheeky..

I believe u meant 'shorted out'
For incident like this, I wouldn't hold it against the manufacturer or the dealer. It's the same as squashing the fuel line when putting the tank back on. I agree that it can freak u out most of the time.

I have to agree with that to mick!! I expected her to be a little lower, but none the less she is perfect for me.... Im 5'8 and compared to my vfr800 the height difference is just enough, i do sympathise with the vertically challenged riders though, I like to have my feet firmly on the ground... and LOL...since Iv lost a little weight and my butt is smaller I sink down into the seat a little more LOL... and yes I load the suspension too... well I certainly load something LOL.....

well RG perhaps you are right maybe shorting out but it was said to me that it earthed out.... much of a muchness I suppose!!! but the problem is all fixed and vatavooooooooooommmmmmmm shes back on the road, and now more people are aware of the problem, it will be easier to rectify!!! oh and the mechanic told me today " you gotta stop that crying " well yer shes only a bike afterall... yer right!!!!!!

hmmmmmmmm gonna leave that one alone!! hehe.....
