Carb vacuum hose size
Posted: Sun Oct 30, 2005 10:46 pmIn a few hundred more ks my thing will be up for its 36,000k service, so it'll be time for a carb balance and valve clearance check. It'll be the first time I've done it so I'm sussing a few things out first in preparation (unlike my last attempt with chain and sprockets).
Sooo the question is, does anyone know the size of the vacuum lines?
My old man has a mecury based balancer, which I'm not sure he's ever even used but if he has it was 10+ years ago. The tubing its got seems pretty big, possibly big enough to fit over the lines from the carbs (been I while since I lifted the tank and took notice). From what I've seen they're meant to fit over the tubes in the balancer.
And what is the measurement of the hoses anyway? Inner diameter or outer? Finally where would I get converters? I was thinking Purple Pig.
