BT012 front, BT020 rear

I was previously running BT020's both front and rear on my ZZR600.
I'd heard suggestions that handling was better with a BT010 on the front (I found the BT020 to feel a little bit unstable on twisties in the wet - other people don't)

Bridgestone have replaced the BT010 with BT012 so I decided to give it a go this time round (the BT020 front lasted 9000kms and probably had another 1000 or so to go).

I haven't tried it in the wet yet (hasn't rained) but I took it for a trip on Sunday and it was BLOODY FARKING AWESOME! Felt totally stable no matter the lean of the bike - very impressed.

This is my first 'sport' tyre (BT020's are sport-touring) so I may be overreacting but I'm extremely impressed. I'll wait and see how it wears before deciding whether to keep getting a 012 for the front or go back to the 020.

But I highly recommend this combination - at least for the ZZR600.

Do they come in 65 profile for the front ?

don't know for certain, but I think you can get em in any size you want pretty much.

I bought some new tyres today. I had been running pirelli dragon supercorsas but got offered a really good deal on some bridgestones.

I got a pair of Bridgestone BT 012 SS for $340 incl 190 rear (fitted).

I haven't scrubbed them in yet so looking forward to testing them out. Once you start using ultra performance tyres its hard to go back.

That is a very good price.
My BT012 was $184 for the front - rear BT012 was around $260 or so from memory (though I didn't get one)

Mario, I was at the bike shop today, asking about 65 profile front tyres, as I want to either a) drop my front end, or b) raise the rear end, and I figured a new lower profile front tyre was the easiest way to do it.

It appears that the 012 does not come in a 65 profile. I will be fitting a Michelin as my next front tyre.

I had BT020's standard on my ZRX1200 and they were alright, but then I tried BT012 rear and BT012SS front and the change was phenomenal. I had so much more confidence in the tyres that I wouldnt go back to the BT020's on the front.

My Z750 has a BT019 front and BT012 rear as standard, and Im yet to form an opinion on the front 019. I dont even really know what its designed for. The rear 012 is quite soft as we all know, so it wouldnt make much sense to have a harder, longer lasting tyre on the front, would it? Im sure I'll find out at Thursdays trackday what its capable of. BTW, its a 65 profile, so perhaps its an option for anyone else wanting a 65 profile front hoop.

The Bt010s were originally designed & used on the 250 2 stroke crowd(Sticky sticky) By far and away the best hoops i had on my fxr600 in 85 thou k's, Last time i had to buy a tyre for it I was told no more 010s & no eqivalents from Bridgestone. The sales guy talked me into a Dunlop Rider ?. IT SUX. Glad to know that the 012 is replacing the 010. The 020 is the touring version of 010 no where near as sticky.

ive got a set of 10s :) love them to death and am yet to come unstuck on them. only thing is i find once theres a little bit of shit ont eh road they will break traction and go for a slap like your missus after a night at a brothel. Wear is damn good for the grip but i have a big problem with the back feathering, whilst the front has amazing turn in response.

I've just had my second rear 020 fitted (012 front). I wanted an 012 but there was none in stock. Most of my riding is Putty Rd and Pacific Hwy. True, the 020 isn't a full on sport tyre but I find for road fast road use it's pretty good and most importantly it gives plenty of warning before sliding when exiting corners under acceleration. When it does go it looks pretty good I'm told!
The main reason I got another 020 was because my pet hate is seeing big bikes with sticky rubber and a squared off rear. Just less chance of that with something a little less extreme.

I got the 020 because I was sick of replacing my tyres every 5,000 kays.
Havent had a chance to give the 020 a good run yet. bring on the warm weather!!

I love my 20's now - excellent grip and good wear rate.
Yeah the 12 was very nice on the front, but it wore a bit too quick.
I do about 1000k's each week so I need something that lasts longer than a month. The 20's last me a good 2 months front and 3 months rear.

BT014 ? UK SuperBike tested them theyre the newest version of the 010

Do we have them in OZ yet ?
