fuel pump

Postby farmer » Thu Jun 25, 2015 5:44 pm

A mate is building a gpz1000 powered buggy ,and wanted to mount the fuel tank below the height of the carbs. Will a fuel pump from a zzr 600/1100 work or will it have too much pressure for the floats ? What sort of pressure do the floats operate at ?

Should be fine - there is no real 'pressure' it just pumps enough to meet the demand from the needles. If you have too much pressure it will force the needles off the seats and flow too much.

If I remember correctly the 600 does not have a pump? It's just gravity. But the ZZR1100 has the lower section of tank under the front part of the seat - hence the pump.
