Headers

Postby Grn77 » Sat Dec 13, 2014 9:47 pm

Hi all I have just bought the new 2015 z1000
I have had new r77 yoshi slipons fitted. Yoshi don't make the headers
To suit. I have heard that the acroprovic headers will fit with the r77. Does anyone know
If this is true. Or where I'd find this info

How many people do you expect would know this info on a 2015 model bike? There's no point making a comment unless it's going to be helpful and the chances that someone would know this info is fuck-all to none. My advice would be to buy the whole Akra system and sell your Yoshi cans and avoid all of the mucking around.

Mostly times yoshi will state the headers are suitable for slip on if not then I guess they don't suite

Like Nelso said its a new model so most of us have no idea really. Generally you'll only get replies if ppl know. If you'd asked about an older model you'd probably get 3-4 decent responses and 3 pages of sidetrack comment ;)

Before you go having things made have you contacted yoshi or other manufacturers about availability?

I have contacted yoshi and they don't make the headers to suit
I have contacted a couple of bike shops and they have told me that they
Spoke to acroprovic. He said they should fit but didn't want to say they will
Because of the different brands. I don't want to go full acro because I love the
Look of the yoshi r77.

What "usually" happens with bike exhausts is that the slip-ons are made to fit standard headers.
Then the headers made made to suit the slip on.
This is not the case all the time. But you you need to find out is where the akro headers attach to the tail pipe. If its the same as the stock position you are probably good to go.

Have you checked out some of the US forums? Normally they have bigger numbers and more chance of people experimenting or at least an owner with a tape measure
