Clutch MC leaking

Postby RustyAs » Mon Mar 17, 2014 3:10 pm

First real ride on the 1200 today 55 klms to work

The good news is the bike is great :kuda: :kuda:

Not so good news, there appears to be a "leak' somewhere on the clutch assembly. :? Three or four drops of fluid have leaked onto the inner fairing :x :x

Havn't noticed any thing before, but I had not ridden more than 20ks before this morning.

Any chance it will fix itself? Or should I pull it down and check it out?

Cheers

check the hose and master cylinder first make sure it not running down the hose and dripping of at the lowest point if the mc cap has been removed it maybe just over full or the damper has not been pushed back when installing the cap and fluid has run down the hose if that is ok then check the banjo bolt on the clutch slave see if its dry wash it down and see if it starts again when its clean and dry will go a long way to working out where the leak comes from i doubt a bike of that age would have a problem with slave piston seals or a perished hose just yet :kuda:
If it aint broke don't fix it just gain more horsepower
