Don't think its stock as it has the spring clips for the muffler - I think stock was a bolted flange..
I had a Vance and Hines on mine... doesn't look like that..

Betcha it is a Megacycle. Looks like the one I had on my GPZ900r. Too bloody low and had to take it off for oil changes.

Lost centrestand coz of it too.

It could be a Muzzy system as the collector is a sleeve fit ( the 4 to 1) but it's just guess work.... there are 2 places for the springs and mig welds on the system like it my have been repaired or modded to fit the bike ?
PS looks like a great flowing system thou !!

Thanks all so far, another thought was it could be a Skorpion from the day? There aren't many marks on the pipe but I'll have a closer look see if there are any clues.

It looks to be a slightly modded / repaired Muzzy system as MAXUMIS wrote. The collector looks very similar to the one on a Muzzy system I have...

Thanks - looks like its a Muzzy then, in the absence of anything to the contrary.

Pipe technology was evolving at the time these Muzzy systems were manufactured. My ZXR Muzzy system on the dyno had a noticeable flat spot / plateau around the 7000rpm mark before building good BHP again. Not such a big issue on the track as you are usually above the 7000rpm range. However, air fuel ratio was a bit all over the shop throughout the rev range. Too rich in some parts of the range and too lean in others. There is a lot of turbulence in the collector - at the 4 into 1 junction that contributes to this.
On my bike, Phil Tainton, Warren and Hayden at PTR were able to gain 5.5 BHP at that 7000rpm point and stabilise the AFR significantly by welding a plate into the collector, in effect making it a 4 into 2 into 1. A highly recommended mod.

Many thanks indeed for that - my bike does have a big hole under 7, although we had it on a Dyno and the jetting / fuelling seemed ok.

Just looking at this, as Dominic notes its definitely modified - someone has lengthened the primaries (header pipes), I'd guess to try and give it a bit more midrange.
Cheers,
Brian
