I starting to do some track days and really think I will continue to do. (Riding 2010 zx6r). So I'm flirting with the idea of upgrading my akrapovic slip on and link to full system as I have found full system fairly cheap. Then I would need to install PCV. I would then sell my current exhaust which would make it just that little bit cheaper. Or just stick with what I have and use cash on more track days?

honestly stick with what you have.

If you are chasing a couple of tenths to get to the National Lap record, then sure, go for it. Otherwise, the 1-2 HP up top that you get will be useless to you as you won't be able to ride it hard enough to benefit. Spend the money on track days and practice, it will benefit you more in the end....

You guys are right.

I'll get a lot more out of the bike from becoming a better rider than spending money on the bike.

Well u can start by booking into broady 28th jan

How cheap and where? But back on topic, plenty of things to make it more track/race worthy before putting on a full system. Engine protection, fairings, nice pads and rearsets to start with, which are cheaper than replacement oem parts and can be unbolted when you sell. if you really enjoy it you'll be looking for a dedicated track bike sooner or later which you can put this cash towards.

Would love track bike. Was thinking of converting mine but will miss not riding it on road.

Akra Full race exhaust on eBay under $1000

Still have stock brake pads and lines.
Have already upgraded rearsets.

May invest in some tuition at next champion race day instead.

That will change

If you really want to spend some $$$ on your bike, the best mod is having the suspension sorted. Wether it be just having it set up right or having them revalved & resprung, the difference is amazing

For now I've tried playing with my bikes suspension settings to try and find an adjustment that I like. Tried to read up as much as I could.

Worth it or not i guess is a personal preference, I had the opportunity to see a work colleague's 09 zx6 do a power run stock and whilst it was being tuned with PCV & full akra system.

Stock = 113.2 rwhp

PCV, full akra, filter, X-TRE & block off plates = 119.4 rwhp

The most gains in hp & torque were seen between 5000 to 8000 rpm & from 9000 to 15000 rpm. His peak torque being 47.8 ft/lbs @ 12000 rpm

I didn't have the opportunity to ride it, but he claims he can feel that extra 6 horses under his butt.

I did ask him how much it set him back (PCV, full akra & tune), the response was " a grey nurse short of 2 gorillas".

if ur talking about suspenison work? i couldnt say, it will vary a lot as to what u want done?
If ur talking about reworking the standard shock ect, as in a respring and revalve, and the same for the front, prob not as much as u think, its when u start replacing with ohlins ect then u start talking $$$.

A phone calls cheap and he will advice on what u need, as to the type of riding u are at.
He can set ur bike up to do 59's round broady, but if ur doing 68/69s then its a waste of time, and visa versa.
IF ur looking at that pipe for around a grand, or a bit under, than spending the same on the suspension will give u a hell of a lot better times at the track, and u will enjoy it more having the bike handle the way it should. trust me on that one!!!
And the other one u havent done yet, brake lines, thats all u prob really need, plus good fluid, say rbf 600 or so.
U prob dont need to upgrade pads, as the stock kawasaki one's are up to the job, any good double HHs will do,
Rearsets u got, so thats prob all u need for a while..
But do the suspension 1st and u will be amazed, but get it done by the right guy....

That and come to broady on the 28th I know u prefer the fri, but their will be a few of us going on the sat 28th, so u got a few guys to chat to, and can hopefully steer u in the right direction

Not sure on track times as really haven't worried about times as yet. Bike has lap timer so might time a few laps next time I go.
Even if I don't do track day on the 28th I might just come up for chat.

Any brake line in particular?
