They said the OEM shock on the 2011 ZX10 wouldnt cut it on the track, absolutely correct. Shocking really

Didnt realise how bad until i seen this pic of it squatting, sags were set and comp was dialled all the way and back a wisker.
Looking through the other JPM photo's in this group no other bike was displaying this.

Could feel it scrape a few times, brings back memory's of the 12R's doing the same.

It was being a bit wheelie happy even with TC mode on and my boots were constantly being smashed into the tarmac which effectively had me re-adjusting my line.

Next: install plastic tube to replace master cylinder.

I will remove the ABS fuse as the brakes were quite wooden and a little bit unpredictable in ways when that kicked in, Bendix competition pads go in for a try out.. Was told it is just the fuse, then i have heard conflicting advice so anyhoo give it a whirl and see.

Replaced that brain buzzing Akrapovic shorty with a Leo Vince link and SBK muffler thanks to Maccarocks. Deeper and a bit quieter. :D

Jonno, don't fuck around with your Ohlins. It will need to be revalved straight away. Send it over to Steve Mudford. He did all the work on the Kawasaki stuff over the last few years and knows what they need in valving and set up terms. Your Adelaide suspension guy might be good, but Mudford is Great. ;)

it will be a completely different bike, just with a rear spring Change.

I'd suggest putting the stock Ohlins in, ride it and go to someone with some feedback.
Its horses for courses. 8)

wheres that other pic Jonno?

its hows how much the geometry of the bike changes. theres one form the other side at turn 2. the belly pan is paralel with the ground as you are coasting (or little gas) then the one you put up you are rolling on the gas, it shows how bad the squat is.

I agree but for what its worth I wont bother with the oem unit yet, yeah that's the plan then get the bike over to Steve Mudford probably do a Winton TD while there. He is the closest of the highly recommended guys I have heard of, might as well get the best job possible.

Correct, Steve was Jamie Stauffer's suspension man when he won the two SBK and Supersport Totles with Yamaha. He has also looked after Brodie and Nick Waters Sunstate/Water Racing Suzukis and Tim Mcgregor who was riding a ZX-6R in Superstock but is now on a Trump 675R Daytona, so yeh, he has just about everything covered.

As has also been said before he is a top bloke as well, Technical Partners Suspension is his company ;) . I've got all his deatils if you need em to mate ;) :kuda:
