LOL was just looking at those.

I suppose no tyre will be super sticky in the wet.

My current bike which i just bought has Metzeler tyres on them.

I grabbed dunlop sportmax sportsmart last week... unfortunately have not even had a chance to scrub them in, and wont for a while till I can get the funds to get the fork seals fixed.

Write ups all look promising tho

Do the feeler gauge trick. Mine were covered in oil after just a ride around the block.. Feeler gauge fixed it completely.

What are people's opinions of Dunlop Sportsmax Q2?

I def. intend to... BUT... i've owned the bike for 3-4 years now and never changed fork oil, and who knows when it was ever changed before. So think it would be good to do at somepoint to change out the oil.

Here's my thoughts:

Significantly heavier and sturdy than a pilot pure so doesn't quite tip in as easily and bum dyno reports a slight perceived loss of power from the 6, but I only really noticed it the first time I rode it, also don't seem to spin up as easily when gassed when leant.

Fine for 1:50s at the creek on a stock setup.

Lost the front and the rear in 3 at the same time but they both grabbed again. :)

They double perfectly as stable off-road tyres, and aircraft landing gear, as tested at approx 200km/hr between the exit of turn one, and the entry of turn 2.

Impossible for us mere mortals to get to the edge Vivek so don't buy them if you want street cred ;)

And the front...

Hey can any learned suspension gurus give any insights into bike setup from pics like these?

Thank Tim. That takes me back to square one on my hunt for something "better and stickier".

On my recent track day, a certain instructor at Preston MCC followed me around on one of the sessions. Gve me some valuable tips and then in the pit area advised me that my lean angles were just about as much as the pilot powers can handle.

He firmly advised me to get something "better and stickier" than pilot powers which I have. I wonder what tyres he had in mind. My riding does not involve commuting at all now. I only do twisties and hopefully more track days.

Photos from the track day on this thread -> viewtopic.php?f=4&t=35862&start=30

Wattie: Aye aye captain :)

Vivek: What about my reply says that the q2s aren't good enough? Q2s are better and stickier than pilot powers.
