I don't unplug my battery. I got a battery fighter from red-Dave. Not sure how many amps it does. Worth it's weight in gold but!

The best charging rate would be approx 1 amp or less, so use the 2 amp setting if thats the lowest you have got and keep an eye on it. If it roughly a 10A/hr battery being charged at 2A, approx 5hrs should do it, maybe a bit less if it starts getting too hot.

+1 for a Battery Fighter.

When not riding for longer periods, my bike stays plugged in via a normal powerpoint. Battery is always charged!

Have also installed one into my Mazda R100. Work a treat!

I am looking at gettting a trickle charger in the next week or so - images i have seen, they come with a harness that connects to the battery semi-perm and it can then run into your glove box or somewhere more convenient for access than removing the seat for quick connection/disconnection.

Dont leave those chargers on overnight. Been to countless number of jobs where they have been left on to overheat... Trickle chargers and battery cycle one's dont seem to give any problems :)

Don't get sucked in by the marketing hype... Projecta is a switchmode charger and whilst will do the job, not the best for the battery.

Buy this one - http://www.master-instruments.com.au/products/57804/BFJ012.html

Battery World's, Super Cheap, Fraser's etc all have them for about $50-$60... They come with the lead to leave permanently attached the the battery and a plug that hangs out the side so you don't have to remove bits to get to the battery everything you want to charge it. Fully automatic and can be left connected to a battery permanently.

Quite a few KSRCian's have this charger and all seem happy with it. PM me if you're interested... ;)
