Around the time i gave speedway a shot, mid 80's, was doing a lot of enduro's back home in sunny QLD, had a IT 490K, reeds, pipe, carb, ect, crazy power those 500cc 2 stroker's, mates tried to talk me into down sizing to a IT250, Nah no way, loved that 490, used to top out at just under 160kph.

Look at your horse. Back to mine. Back to yours, NOW BACK TO MINE. Sadly, it isn't mine. But if you stopped tugging winkies and started eating raisins it could LOOK like mine. Look down, look back up, now look down again, where are you? You're in the universe and all the other places too, realizing that the universe pretty much covers everything. Look at your hand, now back at mine. What is it? It's lemonade. Look again, MY HORSE IS NOW A PLANE.

Anything is possible when you stroke on it’s mane.

I'm on cocaine.

I reckon your right, trying to find a reason NOT too...

The 500cc would have done the job until I seen the 685, my insanity streak says get one and relive the past  .

Pit crew? more like stretcher bearer and beverage duties
I would happily ride a gigantic bore 2 stroke but the Finke race scares the bejesus out of me and thats just watching them do 180kmph over sandy whoops  That race is for the purely insane.

Speaking of which a few local blokes are thinking of a mini bus yobbo tour to go and watch the next Finke. :partyman:

Have gone out to watch a Finke a few years back........ was bloody awesome experience cept for the durry bludging flagon swigging locals, went through twice as many smokes as usual, persistent little buggers
we camped out in a dry creekbed & watching the speed these guys rode THROUGH the SAND was pretty spectacular.
