'06 ZX10 Front end knock/movement

Postby NewbieZX9 » Wed Oct 12, 2011 1:01 pm

G'day all, apologies if this has already been a thrashed topic of discussion but I'm only a newbie.

Just bought a 2006 ZX10, thing runs and looks immaculate, however my only concern is at low speed (really only while braking) there feels like slight movement in the wheel, for example when returning home from a ride out, riding up the gutter on the driveway theres a slight bump I can feel through the steering.

My brother in-law has tried to convince me this is just things like the (braided) brake lines, damper or something just tapping against the front end somewhere, but I tend to disagree..

I'm probably somewhat paranoid as I have in the past had to replace the headset bearings amongst other things in an '03 Gixxa I fixed up with a mate, but is this just paranoia or the inevitable?
Cut me and I bleed ... Green.

Could be steering head bearings, probly just need adjusting / tightening..
Or could just be the pads moving in the calipers...

Yer my guess would be the steering head bearings, hold front brake tight at standstill and try and rock bike back and forward to see if you can feel the same looseness-movement
anyone can go fast in a straight line,,,,
