Installing Engine One Man Job?

i have ordered a replacement engine for my ZX7 i can remove the old engine by using a tie down supported by the frame but can the new engine be installed by 1 person as its pretty hard to get other people to give me a hand there always busy or uncontactable

Straddle the frame (assuming tank and seat are removed) leg each side with strap over your shoulders from engine, jack and block of wood and have pry bars/ bolts ready to stick in the holes. Takes a few goes to get it right, be persistent

we got the engine in today my cousin came over to give me a hand he wanted to see how an engine went into a bike he rides my old R6 we used a car trolley jack to support the engine and hold it in place just one of the top mounting adjusters were seized and wouldnt budge how can i fix this? i have it soaking over night in WD-40

yeah it was a 2 man job plus a trolley jack there is no way i could have done it alone the courier said the engine weighed 70kg when he dropped it off

I have seen Gos do this himself with an 750 engine into a full cradle frame, no jacks nothing other than the over the shoulder strap/rope method and me putting in a few bolts which I am sure he could have done himself.

I have used this method with a Holden red motor before and a trolley jack walking it in to a HQ and bolting it to the bell housing, remarkably easy if you do it right.

I've done a ZX9R engine and a z650 engine by myself, just with a trolley jack and some lumps of wood....the ZX9R engine was heaps easier.

I have taken a couple of 125 motors out . The Victa was by far the hardest .

Mick, it involved me trying to hold the bike up, as it had fallen off of the rear stand, and refusing to let go of the engine.

For anyone with a beam frame. Lay the rolling chassis on some carpet or a rug or something soft if it is a road bike. Then slide the motor into the frame, slide in the bolts, then stand it up on it's wheels and tension the bolts up. I removed two motors and refitted one in the pits at Broadford in 05/05??? using this method. I have a bad back, so don't have the ability to lift much. This way, it's very little physical strength needed. Perfect for me!!
