missing gear intermitently between 3rd and 4th

Hi,
Every now and then on my ZZR 250 I hit neutral between 3rd and 4th. It is probably because I am being a bit lazy hitting the gears firmly, but is it a really bad sign of gear damage or should it be OK.

A couple of things to check.
Make sure its got some good fresh oil in it.
Check and adjust the chain and sprockets and make sure the chain is nicely lubed
Adjust the gear lever position and check the clutch adjustment.
