Metzler M5 Tyres

Well seeming it was a sunny day yesterday i took the opportunity to take them out for a spin on dry roads for the first time. They were scrubbed in on damp roads so never really pushed them. All i can say is the nine has never seemed so settled and they are very confidence inspiring. After doing my normal run through the twisties i played chasey with a few different bikes on different roads and none of them got away in fact they were seriously holding me up.This could also be the benifets of track days every month for the last 12 months,or 2 weeks of the bike whilst away and itching at the bit or tyres, plus local road knowledge or combination of all 4.
Goota lurve the 9 with M5s on her ;) I reckon these tyres are dangerous :D too much confidence inspireing :D

Any thoughts on durability Mal? Looking to replace the PilotRoads soon. Assuming yours are a little less touring than mine :D

Time will tell but they are supposed to be as long or longer lasting than the M3s,there are a few guys on here already useing them not sure for how long.Google the tyres in the meantime. Phil reckons he got 7500 and that on a zrx1200 i have heard he likes to fang a little as well ;)

I have the M5's on my ZRX. Had the M3's before but they were retired due to cuts from raod debreis. Had about 5000k's on them at the time.

About 6000k's on the M5's so far + 1 track day. About 50% worn on the sides, 75% on the centre due to commuting. They are a great tyre and seem to be wearing very well.

I had a run through the park on the Zed this morning with new M5's in the wet - wow. Not one single moment at all, felt very sure footed and that is with the sharper steering from the 190/55 rear tyre instead on the standard 190/50. I am very happy. :D

And yes, Mal is correct, I did get 7500 out of the first set of M5's on the ZRX, that's 2000 more than I got with M3's and better wet grip. :kuda:
