dyno tuning

Hey guys,

Just rang up parramatta kwaka to get a price range on a dyno tune, does the $450 range sound about right?
Dyno caps, K&N air filter, dyno time and then tuning.

Bike is an 01' ZX-6R with yoshi pipe.

Firstly what the furk are dyno caps? secondly does that include suppling the Air filter (they are around $150 on thier own). Dyno run should cost $120 - $180 just to get a graph n minor tweekage.

no idea what dyno caps are.. the guy told me thats what they were.. im thinking jets.

A dynojet jet kit is worth about $180 to $200 a K&N filter is about $150 so supplying, installing and tuning for $450 is about right..

Oh and ask if you get the 10% KSRC member discount of the parts. If you don't, ask for Wayne (the owner).....

hmmm, probly not necessary... A good tuner should be able to fix it by rejetting (std jets) and tuning.
The dyno jet kit and K&N will add a couple of HP, but from my experience, without a full system, they don't do a lot for the $...
I put a megacycle slip on on my zx7r and had the bike rejetted (std jets) to suit and gained 5 hp. I then put in a dynojet kit and and a K&N filter and only gained 1 hp... I found the best hp was with the stock filter with the mesh cover removed. The $180 K&N filter then sat in the garage for the next 2 years...

sounds about right...
4 odd years ago I had the GPx done and with a carb balance
and tune, new plugs and all filters it was $150
and she was sweet..still is

i remember we discussed this b4..staintune found the same thing with the cbr...standard filter worked better than uni & k&n so they went back to stock...

Dunno if I'd ever go back to parra kwaka. I paid the $650 for the full service and didnt even get a dyno tune, coz the dyno was "out of service". I doubt if they even did much for the service apart for the ussual oil and plug change. said they changed a shim or 2 but I wouldnt be able to tell.

and on top of that no KRSC discount.
