Hi all,

Newbie question

How do I remove the shift rod banjo thingy from the OEM rearset? I have some shiny new rearsets to put on but they didn't come with the shift rod or the shift link.

Bike is a 93 ZXR 750.

Cheers,

Thomas.

Not sure if the 750 is the same but he shift rod should be threaded at both ends. Undo the lock nuts at each end then spin the shift rod ( unwind) until it come off each link on either side. After that there will be a bolt no doubt holding the linkage near the back of the footpeg somewhere

That's prety much it. However you may want to use a steel brush and clean up the threads that are visible a bit to make progress a touch smoother with the locknut. Also a dab of penetrene/inox and using vice grips to hold onto the shift rod may help as the locknuts can get pretty bedded in there.

Yeah but no :?

Undid the shift rod from the rose ends, but they're very much stuck. The rose ends are stuck on the pegs/shift linkage.

Should I pry them off with a big flathead or stump for a new set from Kaneg?
