Any tips on how to clean the wax off new tyres?
Im at Eastern Creek on monday with brand new tyres.
Ive been told to take it easy for the first session, but if theres a way
to clean all the wax off them before hand id go for that.

Wax and grease remover, like Prepsol. Wet a rag and wipe the tyre over with it.

As Nelso said but even after that take it easy for the first 2 laps.
On new tyres I wait till about turn 8/9 on the out lap then I am good to go.

Even after wiping, they still need to be babied a few laps.
I personally go out with wax, stickers and all on. By turn 8 got the knee down on the left side.
But I do not condone this behavior

Oh and if Glen at Allfixed fitted your Tyres, I'd say he already wiped them with prepsol or brake cleaner.

Acetone will do the job too..
Or scuff em with a bit of sand paper if ya like.
Most shops that fit your tyres will use a product...(Tyre Buff..I think it's called...anyone know for sure??)
But certainly take it easy getting on the gas for the first few corners/laps..
Are you using warmers.?

I'm with Wattie. Get on and ride them, it takes fuck all to bed them in and it's no faster if you rub whatever crap you want on them

There's been a few people binning it on turn 3 first lap or 2 out on new tyres.... To my mind sandpaper would be the only way you could really prepare them anymore than the standard prep, but who could be bothered

Why not give Glen a call and see how he prepped them

Glen said take it easy for the first session. Considering that it will be 8 degrees I was going to do that anyway.

I use acrylic paint thinners on a rag. Works ace and is cheap.

Sand paper is the way to go , with some thinners or prepwash (prepsol) after just to be on the safe side.

Rub anti clockwise with the left hand, then clockwise with the right.
Then squint your eyes, put on a chinese accent and say
"WAX ON, WAX OFF"
