Full story available at http://www.klr650.net/forums/showthread.php?t=92143 seems last I read he attributed it to overtensioning, to my mind that takes a fuck of a lot of extra tension..

Goddam!!
I'd love to see the condition of his output shaft bearings if the swingarm looks like that.

I reckon it's a massive bottom out.

I think it was more to do with his dodgy workmanship than the ambient temp.

Reminds me of the pick of the bike with the sprocket nuts carved thru the rear swingarm.
Same issue, forget the spacer...

Had a read of the thread, cush drive bearing failure, fark that.

I wonder if something like that would be recall worthy?

Read the thread, did remember the spacer, as the topic suggests, now attributes it to over tensioning. Steve, not my bike, too farkin cold for anything to melt right now let alone bike bits. Panza, into KLR's might not be the best way of putting it but that's what i'm riding now and happily so. Hence the team chook chaser.

Re read the thread again, over tensioning may have played a part in it, but others have had a similar failure. Is it possible they had a similar over-tightening? Don't ignore the possibility of random bad bearing races.
