had a similar problem with my zx9r recently. I checked the battery voltage while trying to start, it was ok. I tapped the clicking relay while trying to start and she fired up.(I'm going to replace the aux starter relay). If the battery is buggered replace it with an AGM. good luck.

sounds like the starter solenoid might be sticking ? This happens on all sorts of bikes...

You need to have the specific gravity in the battery checked. It may read 13v on the multimeter, but that is not the whole story....

monitoring battery voltage whilst attempting an engine start will give you a good idea on whether or not the battery is the cause of the problem.
