Has anyone on here done this mod? And if so, was there any noticable performance increase?
Go to Web page below - Tech Tips - Scroll down to "Float bowl vent mod in pictures" and click on links.

Did it to my old ZXR-L3 way back when, didn't pick any performance improvement per se, but getting rid of ugly weight is always a plus.
Cheers,
Brian

Any tips on jetting Brian?
I gave it a shot when I first got the bike but couldn't get the jetting right so wacked it all back on. From what I've read it's meant to be an OMFG phenomenal improvement

Sorry, I did it around the same time as I mounted up FCRs, so can't help at all with jetting CVs

Apologies,
Brian

I did it on my old ZXR750.
I found it might have helped throttle response and helped fix a flat spot at around 3500-4000rpm.
I think its worth doing due to the fact its reversible and costs nothing (if you have crap lying around you can use).

I just did the carb bowl vent mod on my ZXR L3. I put a irrigation pipe 19 mm (I'm pretty sure it's 19mm) Tee from Bunnings in between the valve cover pipes and connected the third pipe back into the original airbox hole.
I ended up with a massive lean condition from 2.5K upwards. Man it was ugly. Spitting and popping and... I poked around on the net and found some advice about lifting the needle. I went to Jaycar Electronics and bought M3 (not M4) stainless and nylon washers and put two stainless ones under each needle. Drama solved. In fact the power kick I used to get around 7.5k prior to the change has wandered down to around 5k and I have more grunt from just off idle and upwards. I'm guessing it's running slightly rich and it's louder in the mid range but I like the kick I get.
Once I got them home and had a look at them I didn't end up using the nylon fellas. I didn't know what would be happening to them in the carby. I didn't want them mangled up and spread around the delicate bits. All I could see was pain down that path.
I think washers under the needle is a dodgy mod even though I like the result. My plan is to buy a few larger pilot jets and try them out. One day...
I just couldn't bring myself to put the Valve Dampener and Control bling back on the bike. I need a diet, but so does the bike and that was a good place to start...
