Ok, whilst returning from PI yesterday my 1100 started missing. I had accidently put some ethanol fuel in, only a couple of litres, I then filled the rest up with 91 ron. During the next 150klm run i had no problems, i then filled up with BP Ultimate. About 15 minuted later she started missing and continued all the way home. With the clutch in it revs freely, only under load it'll miss.

I also road through a shower before it started.

So before i pull the tank off, drain carbies, check the plugs, spray some CRC around can anyone offer any other reasons as to what could cause this.

Can that small amount of shit fuel have such an effect.

If it's water in the fuel how much metho do you add to fix it ?

Cheers.

The ride was good and the road from Bombala to Cann River is unbelievable.

Drain the tank is the best bet.... but its an interesting point about the rain, I had an GSXF 750 which would run rough when it rained I cant really remember the problem but I think it was water in one of the plug holes or similar.

When ever i ride in the rain, for some unknown reason my 250 will run like if it was running on 1 cylinder... hard to accelerate, sound rough, more engine vibrations...

im thinking MAYBE it could be the fuel? or it could be water interfering with something electrical, im not sure, i wish i did know!

As Rob said, drain ur tank, and also try checking ur cables/leads and see where the water has been around the engine. :)

It is very comon for old plug leads to have pin holes on the outer sleeve which causes a short. Weak spark casues it to run like shite (water in the plug holes also does this).

I had similiar symptoms on my H model. It turned out to be a small pin hole in one of the Carb diaphragms.
