Yep, I have them front and rear on my ZRX.
They feel fantastic to me, I have over 3500 on them and they look like they have another 2500+ left in them. In fact I will be using them on the upcomming CDT. I have never had a set of tyres last so long (that grip like that). They also feel very confidence inspiring in the wet. They will last considerably longer than the M3's
Then again I have been a Metzler man since 95 on my ol ZZR600.

A mate of mine has them on his 07 Blade, & does track days on them, flat 1.40s at the creek & then rides home on them. He cant fault them.

would that be miles or kilometers mate? & do you figure the rear to front replacement ratio will be about 2 to 1?
the reason i'm so interested in the front is i was planning a ride from Toronto to Whistler & back on an M1 front & Z6 rear
but with the M1 out of production i'm hoping an M5 Z8 combo will do the distance which could be between 9000 & 12000 kilometers...depending

me since around 85 on my '82 GPz750 (810)...before the rear Metronic was released anyway
tried a variety of sport tires on my '01 ZRX (ZR1200A1) but wasn't really happy 'till i went back to Metzeler with the M1

Phil is talking km, not miles.
I'm just about to replace my M3's on my ZRX and the front and rear are equally shagged.

I have the M5 on my ZRX. They are a fantastic tyre and are handling the commuting duties very well.
I have about 3-3500 km on them so far and id say they are 1/3 of the way to being shagged.

Have a M5 set on the 12R, Iam use to M3's, however I havnt had enough time on them to really say anything other than they are very good.
I have Diablo C3's on the other 12 and they are very good and totally trust them.

those are more like the numbers i was hoping forWhickle wrote:I have the M5 on my ZRX. They are a fantastic tyre and are handling the commuting duties very well.
does your commute involve any straights with speed...the North American prairies are a tire killer & i'd have to do 'em twice

This is how I treat mine though. They have done a couple of long trips, a lot of weekend scratches and a couple of trackdays. I think I did alright out of them.

the big speeds shouldnt worry the front too much. The back maybee in the heat but I'd say the Z8 Interact is made for big heavy bikes so should be no issue at all. I reckon you'd be sweet with the M5/Z8 Combo for that distance.
Gotta love the Metzlers

wow, I've NEVER had
any tyre last that long, must be our shite roads

Forgot to mention, M3's have lasted longer than I could get the M1's, with better grip. M5's are another step on again in terms of both IMHO

good feedback so far guys...thanks
i don't usually get a chance to freeze my spuds off 'till around the end of March so keep me posted on the M5 please
btw... if the Z8 is even just as good as the Z6 i'll be happy...the one i tested on the back for 13000k wasn't quite hitting the wear marks & was still round...there wasn't even a noticeable difference in handling when i swapped it for a brand new M1...of course it never had the grip
