Just finishing installing my foot controls and I’m wondering how many of you are running a Race shift pattern? (Reverse shift pattern)

Also if anyone is currently using Attack performance foot controls and have changed over to race shift setup can you attach/PM a picture.

Nope too confusing, 17 years of normal gear shifting before starting to race it was way too hard to get used to it :?

We were in the pit with Hamish last week and he has just switched his....I don't think he liked it much as he said he found himself stopping and thinking more before he shifted therefore making him slower....In saying that by the end of the second day he was doing 1.46 :D

At the Island, you are severely hampered if you run a road pattern, as you cannot get your foot under the lever through 10 n 11. Most other tracks it doesn't matter too much. But, once used to it, it is def faster upchanges.

I presume youre talking on a tracky. On a roady it'd be a bit of a toss and probably just a little dangerous ie I'd rather risk missing an upshift then a downshift.

It's really just personal choice I guess. The fast guys here don't use it and they're a lot faster then anyone else here on pretty well any track you'd like to name.

we don't have any fast guys in here that I know of? Name one who is running top 5 or even 10 Nationally and I will eat my words. I bet you will find that the MAJORITY of FAST guys use a race pattern.

Leanne uses race shift on the track and normal shift on the road as all her race bikes were race shift. Now she struggles to ride a bike with normal shift on the track even though she has no problem on the road. I am too scared to give it a go as I've spent the last 30 years using normal gear changes but I think it would be a good thing to switch to if you race.

Nelso I think its about having to think about it before actually changing thats the problem I faced, the Forgetten era bikes I raced on (some not my bikes) were set up with race shift & after trying both I changed back over to normal pattern the loss of race positions due to a wrong change was not worth it.
