Hello Legends,

I’m about to finish off my exhaust system without the need for an “Exhaust valve servo”, should i remove it and install one of these?. (Zx10r Exhaust Servo Eliminator)

Also I still have the “Cat” installed on the end of the headers, is this going to make much difference in performance?

In a nut shell, you will need the servo buddy if not installing it on new system, yes..

I'm gonna have to handle this very soon also once I get the time. No Cat tho.

Will the "FI" light just flash without it? Is that all the servo buddy does?

Grab the servo buddy, not the servo eliminator from Ivan's Performance. The one you linked is what I have in my ZX10R gen 3

Just read the description of the listing.... yup, that's all. I'll have to have a look and see how much work is involved in removing the servo motor later if I'm gonna leave it there...

servo motor should be a piece of piss to remove, its under the seat and the bolts can be seen under the wheel arch.

Hey mate,
If you are buying a servo buddy, would you be inclined to dissect it? i have been trying to backward engineer it for some time now and have the basic gist of it.
I know its got no software loaded on to it and that its purely an analogue device, so it would be a matter of finding out what components are soldered onto the board and replicating it...

I think what it does is take the input signal from the ECU to move the motors and converts it to a signal which is fed back into the ECU....

Jeremy (the guy who makes servo buddy) posted on the ZX10R.net forums what he uses to build these boards with. I will have a look around to see if I can find his post.
