I'm about to do some work on my forks and in need of a 2 or 3 legged gear puller - would anyone in the area have one I could borrow for a couple of days?

Thanks :D

This may be a silly question but why do you need a gear puller to work on your forks?

The front forks on a GPZ500 have no adjustment at all in them - apart from adjusting the pre-load via adding some washes. To do that you need to remove the handlebar raiser, fork cap then compress the fork spring (with the gear puller) enough to remove the circlip that holds it all in.

Wayne, I have a thing that will do the same as the puller. Made it for my old R65 .... same fork setup.
I'll have the bike in for tyres at Kelen's on Friday ... will bring it with me.

If Ron's contraption doesn't work out for you I've got a 3 legged puller you can borrow.

Sure am mate...this weekends ride has shown some major issues with the suspension....basically its custard for forks and whipped cream for the rear. Want something there that resembles springs and dampers
