For the few track days you're doing mate, I'd probably stick with the solar ones. Your road tyres will be warm enough in a lap and you don't really have the worry of heat cycles that you do with slicks/race tyres.

Hmmm some people still use them for street tryes right? I mean the plan is to have a trackie one day, so I'll need them then anyways.

When I borrowed Robs last track day I loved going out and having confidence straight away. I felt like I got more out of the day instead of sacrificing a lap or 2 each session.

How much do tyres cool down in the few mins from taking them off to hitting turn 2?

They cool down a fair bit. I usually dont get my knee down till turn 7 or 8 on the first lap even with warmers (I have gone straight out and dropped a knee on turn 2 before but I wouldnt recommend it for a constant practice).

Pete's new ones are fine for a trackday junky such as yourself

...and a whole three month warranty. Experience and and empty wallet says Tyre Warmers aint Tyre warmers. You get what you pay for. I think everyone probably buys one cheap set and then learns their lesson.

1 year warranty mate, did you read the description :P :)

But yeh you are right I did go for the cheaper ones, budget constraints :? ...no point having million dollar tyre warmers with no tyres to warm
