I would be cautious about who you buy slip-ons from. The Z1000's fuel map is tuned for the stock exhaust and just buying any old slip-on can adversly affect performance. I have a 2004 Z and have tried several slip-ons as well as a complete Muzzy system and each one had it's little problems, Muzzy slip-ons gave me improvements on top end but I lost a lot of mid range, Laser extreme slip-ons gave me good mid range but a loss at high RPM, etc. etc. This is with a tune and a PCIII. I looked at the site you posted and could not find the reference you made to growlers and I'm not saying they will not work but exhaust gas flow is something that can be very tricky as the length of the pipe as well as the diameter greatly affects proper flow at different RPM's. I finally settled for a full Muzzy and am getting over 130 rear wheel HP at 4600 feet altitude. I have a full Muzzy, PCIII, airbox mod and ported and polished exhaust ports. The more Jim you have the more things become clear. If one shot is good 10 must be better.

The MGP Growler is a hotbodies product. They only make the pipe for the current Kawasaki 250R, 6 & 10 and similarly looking faired sportbikes from other brands. You'll have to consider some alternatives...

A member from here has the Stainless Steel Yoshi's but I dont think he is entirely happy with them. Good price but quality is so so. Depending on your budget Ive always liked the look of the Akra's in carbon fibre. Akra's as far as Im aware shouldnt require you to do any remapping or anything like that. A quick link here:

If you can order and get them from from the US with the $ right now! As you need two pipes not one its always going to be a little more exe... Im sure there is a thread somewhere on here that had a pipe that made the Zeddy a single pipe look 8)

Hi again,

Thanks for the insight, when i started looking i didnt realise how much of a pain in my rear it would be.Akrapovic seems to be the best though may be out of my price range which lead me to the MGP. Dont mind paying for re maping and stuff as my bike is my second GF and ill do anything for it, Yoshi was a second thought but i think they look dated. Does anyone Know much about Leo Vince pipes? Once again guys Thanks for the insight. should have gotten onto this site sooner.

I've ridden an sv650 with leo Vince pipes - sounds awesome, looks great.

Pity these dont fit on an 09 (?)

have a look at an entire 4-1 muzzy setup from the states - pretty cheap at the moment.
