Hi all I'm new to motorbikes n this site iv just bought a gpx with only 300 km on the clock and 100 are mine was just woundering if it is normal for the bike Jo jump forward a bit whin it's cold and put into 1st ? Also I. Read things about jetting kitS also exhausts are these mods worth the$ or would I be wasting my money? Thanks any other tips or advice would be good as I said new to it all

Yep they all do it. I have a mates one in my shed at the mo. Did 420km on it last weekend. Great fun for a 250. Hotting up is a waste of $$$$ IMHO. With the clutch, try moving the lever several times before putting in gear, hold front brake on hard and give it a few extra revs and jam it in.

Just slam it in there and off ya go

For the moment just learn to ride and stop and steer the thing! Spend your internet and reading time learning about that, not about upgrading the bike, plenty of time for that later on.

Welcome, and see if you can get some Mexicans out for a ride!

Any gear-changing problems will disappear when you have about 1500km on the clock, I had GPX250R from new.

The Ninja 250 is what the Yanks call the GPX250R.

Do you no any sites or good places for getting riding tips also any DVD’s or books worthy watching or reading to get some help??
Pretty comfortable on it im def no pro but I do struggle a little with tight corners at anything that resembles speed... Haha

Books I've read and continue to read include Sport Riding Techniques, Twist of the Wrist 2, and I've just started working through Performance Riding Techniques.

From them I'd say Sport riding techniques is the most appropriate one because it's accessible and has a lot of content about roadcraft etc. It is a great book and well worth buying and using! The other 2 are more performance/track oriented.
