Hey All, I have a 07 model zx14 which has developed a front end shudder under high speed braking (above 100km) , i have changed calipers, installed brand new discs, changed brake lines, changed wheel bearings, checked and tightened headset bearings, changed brake pads and still nothing seems to remeady this extremely anoying problem. Just wondering if anyone else has had the same experience and or know's of a solution to this problem. Any feedback would be very much appreciated.
Cheers
Stuart

Holy Shit looks like you've covered everything except for tyres. Have you put new rubber on since it's been doing it.

Hey Stuart...I recently took my zx12r to replace chain & sprocket. The guy was talking abt this same problem being common on 12 & 14...so give him a call...he might be able to shed some light on this problem...he does alot of work for KSRC..great guy... details: Glen from Allfixed Automotive on 96431455

My 08 ZX6R had that when I got it, only very slight, and only when braking hard at high speed.
I put new tyres on almost straight away and I haven't noticed it since (old tyres had 9,000k on them and were pretty shagged).
I'll check tonight and let you know.

I have the same model but have'nt got the problem or even heard of it
All I can think of is maybe the fork pressure or settings are fucked up

Seems like you know what your doing but have you checked to see if the forks are bottoming out? Can do this by adding a zip tie to one of them... But like has been said tyres are the most obvious question so far.

I just got back from a ride and consciously tested my brakes, no problems........ maybe you lost a wheel weight, try getting it re-balanced, otherwise I dunno.............

Try checking the tire pressure. Low or high pressure will cause front end wobbl as well as wierd braking. If thats it, have about 10 Jim Beams to overcome the feeling of stupity. If it's not it have 10 Jims anyway and it won't matter.

G'Day again,
Tyres are the only thing that i hav'nt done yet, but i have a new set ready to go so i'll try that and see. I'll knock out a six pack of jimmy's at the same time. Thanks heaps for the feedback.

G'Day Superfrog,
Changed tyres, front and rear balanced wheels, did pressures right and still no luck. I'm going to take my fork to biketec to be revalved new springs oil etc and see if that changes anything. I did'nt drink the jimmy's i had to ride home.

You seemed to have repaired, replaced or redone every movable part.... I wonder if something is bent somewhere

Out of curiosity , I would prob run a dial gauge over both discs new or not just to make sure they are sitting square on the wheel boss.. Highly unlikely I know but you've checked every other bloody thing , unless its bottoming on the forks as mentioned perhaps??
Did you do the ziptie thing as Rob suggested?
