Repairing battery contact plates

Hi all, I've a perfectly good battery but one of the contacts is bent and a bit split from over tightening. Anybody know if they can be repaired? I was hoping they would be made from lead and therefore fixable with a lighter but that doesnt seem to be the case. I think this is likely the source of my electrical gremlin as I have it stuck on with a vice-grip atm and it seems to have fixed it. 3 weeks since last I rode :(. And need to get other things sorted in time for the track day...
