Heard a bang tonight when starting ZRX- been thinking I hear a knock when starting previously. Popped oil cap, and sure enough witness marks on the clutch pressure plate again(!). Was replaced under warranty 5000km ago- starter chain, tensioner and clutch pressure plate. Did half the 5000km in one week too- Mackay and back. Maybe three months since this was 'fixed'. Wonder how many $$$$ are involved in that? You'd think they'd fix this problem coz they've had it since 1984- GPZ900 family of engines all have had this problem- GPZ1000RX, GTR1000, ZX10,(old one) ZZR11, ZZR12, ZRX, GPZ1100 (newish one) etc.
Will ring the dealer tomorrow and see what they say. Hmmmmmmm. Once out of warranty this becomes my problem.
