Speedo Healer

Postby seiko1 » Sat Jul 25, 2009 10:36 am

Has anybody got one of these?

Typical uses-
Eliminating "factory inaccuracy", which may be as much as 10%
- Account for changes in tire size/profiles
- Make gear ratio changes, such as sprocket conversions on motorcycles
- By-pass (alter around for top speed Bonneville or radar-trap runs) the built-in factory speed limiter on specific Honda, Kawasaki, and Yamaha bikes, such as the CBR1000RR, R1, ZX10R and ZX14.Note: you need the GIpro w/ATRE to remove the speed limiter on Suzukis
- Adjust for new speedo face-plate with different scale
- Requirement for absolute accurate odometer or speedometer
- Requirement to characterize the display unit of the vehicle (stability, error % and linearity)
Policy - Find something simple.....and Complicate it!

Mate I think the zzr takes it's speedo reading from front wheel not sprocket. Don't think it'll work. Probably wrong though

had one on the 10 for about 3 years. along with the Gipro ATRE and PCIII more recently (thks Brian :D ). As for removing the speed limiter , this is model specific. Think it works on the 12's and a few others , does not work on the 10 via the speedo healer as far as I am aware  Unless of course I'm missing something!? :?
End of the day,why/when would anyone want to be riding the high side of 299 on the road anyway IMO ???

I believe the 06/7 14's in particular liven up with removal of the secondary fly's and PCIII tune [to overcome the low rpm/roll on laziness].

Speedo Healer appears to be very accurate when riding past radar display boards though regardless of gearing / rear tyre profile :kuda:

2004 onwards 12R's AFAIK now (as I havn't checked 12r.org) could not have the limit removed, many tried but the side effects were plenty and weird. Once this bike was discontinued they basically gave up.

However you could gear the bike so the indicated speed was much lower than actual.

Cant see why anyone would want to do 299kmph anyway

Have one on the Bug.

Good Mod;
Reduces the KM's put on the bike as all speedo's over estimate
Far more acurate reading especially if you change gearing
Digital speedo's have a great gift of being increasingly less acurate as you go up in speed (high 100's and 200's)
Probably find you wont get near 300 if you have speedo healer on as KM/h will be true and that would be close to 6th gear full throttle. Otherwise you speedo will read 300 on avg when your only truely doing 250.

Bad Mod
cages will now piss you off even more, as you try to sit on the speed limit and you'll find out how inacurate their speedo's are in the cars as they will be sitting 10km/h under the speed limit.

Prepare to be dissapointed when it noses over @295 then slowly creeps to its 299km/hr speed limited .....{does the 14 speedo even read that high or have they gone digi?? - used to read to 260 or 280 I thought on the 08's)
