ER 5 Instrument Lights

Hi ,ive very recently bought a 2005 model er 5 but the lights dont work on the instrument panel,i cant see the speedo at night!!,is there a fuse for this somewhere??,ive looked but cant find anything,or would it be just a globe??,i know very little about bikes

also the brake light doesnt work when i apply the front brakes,but the rear works fine??,is this a fault at the actual lever itself>>,can anybody help me???

G'day Scott, and welcome to KSRC. I suspect the gauge lights aren't fused - they use a small globe which goes into the rear of the panel - probably a blade fitting of some description. Check them before you go chasing any other faults, and if the globe(s) seem Ok use a multi-meter to check for 12 volts at the fitting when you've got the ignition on (bike running).

For the brake lights I'd first check to make sure the switch on the bar is connected, and if it is spray some WD40 on it to make sure it's not sticking.
