Clutch Lever Question

Postby Daino » Fri Oct 17, 2008 8:36 am

Hey,

I have had my ZZR1100 for a couple of months, it has 78000kms on the clock.

I have noticed that when stopped at the lights etc and I have the clutch lever pulled in, it only engages almost right at the end of the travel of the lever - right as I am almost letting go of it.

It is a hydraulic clutch, and I was wondering if anyone knows if it can be adjusted to engage earlier in the lever travel, or is this a classic sign of 'dude you need a new clutch soon'?

Cheers.
Daino. Dark Green ZZR110D.

My 848 has a Hyd clutch you can adjust where the plunger sits, there should or might be a very small allen key on the clutch lever its self this can then adjust the friction point.
Now i need help adjusting the cable friction point on my 636

if you have the big rectangular reservoirs (like mine in this pic) then you should be able to get a zx10/12 lever and slot that in place as the span adjustable newer ones are a direct replacement for the old fixed length ones i had on my gpx750. Unfortunately for me I've not been able to find span adjustable direct replacements that fit onto my rf900's clutch master assembly as i found that a real useful modification, especially in heavy traffic.
