wider tyres on zxr250

hey all!
just would like to know if i can put some wider tyres on my zxr250, im not talking about going insane maybe just an extra 10mm,

is this possible? any effects to the bike or the ride?

i'm asking thing because im in need of changing my rear tyre soon so this thought popped into my head

I think 140 is as wide as you can go. from memory 130 is stock?

yeah i have 140 on mine ATM. so thats about the wdiest i can get,

i believe "we-dare-not-mention-his-name" had 140s on his ZXR250.... not sure however if they were stock or not...130 is stock on ninja 250 and i think 140 was stock for ZXR250, dont quote me on that tho....

on the same topic however, people in the US are putting 150s on the new baby ninja :roll: god knows why.... ruin the handling which is so good on small bikes...

but oh how could i forget... it makes it look more like a 600 :roll:

Yes, it'll ruin the handling. When I bought my RGV250 it had a 150 tyre on the rear. I did one trackday on it and found it really annoying, turn-in was slow and the squished-up shape made the tyres cook. I changed it back to the stock 140, and it was a million times better.
