Hi guys,

Have been hearing a lot about this new MA racing rule regarding a requirement of covers to cover your engine covers

I have a couple of Questions:

1: Do aftermarket covers like those from NRC suffice?

2: Is it just the alternator and timing cover thats needed, or the clutch cover as well, as I've seen covers for the former, but not the latter.

3: If you make your own, what do they have to be made from?

4: For those of you that've made your own, how'd you do it and is it something I can knock together myself with little problem?

Ah yes, that issue.. Its had a bit of discussion on here... :-)

1. Yep, NRC covers are ok, You may have trouble finding them for your bike though as they will be old stock. Keep a look out on ebay.

2. Hmm. the clutch cover you ask.?? That has been the subject of some heated discussion on here. I think the answer is, only if it sticks out further than any other covered engine case.?

3. Materials can be composite ,like Carbon fibre or kevlar - Aluminium or steel.

4. Most of us nade our own. I cut up some carbon fibre sheet I had, but others folded aluminium sheet.

have a read here... :-) in particular the last few pages..
