Ok,

So i just found out that the bike i bought has had its rear guard "trimmed". Although this seems to be acceptable in WA, it appears that in NSW this is very much a no no and will stop my bike passing its blue slip inspection.....

I was just wondering if anyone had any similar experiences and could offer any advice of how i can get around this? Am i going to have to go to wreckers and look for a new rear tyre guard?

You could probably get away with hanging a reflector on a piece of aluminium down such that the angle through the reflector and the rear axle to the ground is less than 90 degrees.

The alternative might be to get your blueslip done at a car rego joint - most have NFI about bikes and shouldn't fail it ;)

It's a E1 2000 model.

Yeah didnt know about the whole guard thing until it became a bit of a problem. So its a rear axle issue?

Has it been inspected? If so did they specify what the requirements are?
Good luck finding an undertray that hasn't had the chop - Seems there are more people than just me with a much coveted hacksaw :D

Hasnt been inspected yet, just know because the people who are shipping it over told me. They said "you are going to struggle getting it passed with the rear guard like that". I just need to get it through, then back to normal for me ;)
