I cant remove my front sprocket on my zx6r 05 I have tried a air impact wrench and a braker bar. I have someone on the back brake and it is in 1st gear. I cant move the nut.

1stly.......You have folded down the locking washer ???
2ndly.....The b'stards are tight :twisted:

get a bit of scaffolding pole to fit over the breaker

3rdly..... big lump of wood(wrapped in cloth to protect paint) through the back wheel against the swingarm

I have the same problem on Mel's 636 !!! It is without a doubt the tightest sprocket nut I have ever tried to undo.

If you find a solution, post it up - I am going to go into battle this week with a big fuck-off rattle gun, if that doesn't work, I intend to make a wheel attachment device to the Prado, hook up 4WD while its on axle stands, and use the torque of a 3.4L motor to undo the fucker !!! :twisted:

you need a big bar on your shifter....or just pop the bike into a kwack dealer and get them to do it, and change the front sprocket there....cost f'all.

I like the bit of wood through the rear wheel. Do you think there is any chance of damage doing it this way.

only if you use oregon or any other soft timber......use a piece of 4" x 2" hardwood, and it won't be damaged at all !!

Go to Kennards (or whatever hire place is up there) and hire a big electric rattle gun. More power than most air ones and costs about $15 for 1/2 a day...
