blade isnt selling
my zx12 i was going to buy sold
now im looking at a potential swap for a tlr1000
anyone know of anything that majorly fucks up on them?
im so over the blade.

The rear shock / damper is crap..

There heavy and probly not as fast as your blade....

Not sure if thats an upgrade...

its got an aftermarket rear shock
full exhaust system
braided lines tre airbox new rotors the whole kit.
im really over the blade. looking for something different and more pillion friendly.
speed and power arent exactly an issue for me.
i was conisdering a 636 for a while but cant seem to sell the fireblade for the price i want.
that and the guy wants to swap for an inline 4

I love the TLR. As much as people talk about the handling, jumping off my 7 and onto a mates TLR I had no dramas. Both heavy bikes too, but I found the TL felt lighter once moving.

And they sound AWESOME :D

they had a thing for cracking and twisting the subframe...

the motor is pretty good, tho they are heavy, lack power, dont stop as well as ur blade, and i doubt it would be as comfy 2 -up...

not much of a trade..maybe a trade-down!!


considering they were SUPPOSE to take on the rc45? (vtr sp1) and dukes in world superbikes, but the gsxr750 was better suited for racing, the project got scrapped....

One of the big spewie twins was reknowned for cracking the Swingarms just behind the offset centre mount, not sure if it was the "R" or the "S".

Stop feckin' around & buy "th' 9" !. Sully stole his "fromablokewhoknewablokethatownedadog" I was surprised what you can pick up n "F" model for.

yup... it was predominately the R model... i thought it was the subframe tho, not the swingarm??..either way... shitbox...lol

well if your looking for something pillion friendly i can tell you the TIller is so comfy, my man has one adn i have pillioned on it a few times and wasnt cramped or sore afterwards..
they are great bikes but they arent evryone's cup of tea.
i know alex wouldnt swap his tiller for anything, he also has a gsxr600 for track use but prefers the tiller for the road.

his only complaint would be the breaks, but with braided lines decent rotars and good galfa pads alexs stops fine.

what year model are you looking at?
and what year model blade are your swapping?


i would say the tiller was the comfest bike to pillion on as the seat is comfy, the reach to the tank is just right and the rider doesnt even feel you on the back most of the time..

but with a nice set of pipes they are the sexiest sounding things on the road IMHO

all of the above is MHO and is to be taken as that an opionion.

i for one love the tillers, but i am just unable to get it off the side stand confidently as they do lean a long way over, but you can get a bussa stand adjusted to fit the tiller and that stands it more upright.
parts are easy to find for the tiller in america and there is alot bling you can put on them aswell

her hands go numb after 30 minutes and she thinks im being a bastard when i corner with any speed
shes 55kgs
im looking for something different while i have the money.
i have 2 interested parties for the fireblade now plus a potential swap.
so a tlr with full exhaust might deafen her into not coming out for a ride.

Sounds to me like she needs to harden up, and probably won't be happy on the back of anything!

When I was still riding the 6 around, the good wife loved being on the back. We rode it to Halls Gap and back, from Adelaide, and I didn't hear a word of complaint. I've also had her on the back with the pegs scraping, and I know for a fact that a certain Gixxer Thou rider who frequents here has done the same with his missus on the back of the thou.

Other than the fact that Hondas are renown for being a little boring, unless you start looking for something which was designed with a pillion in mind, I doubt you're going to find anything much better.

agreed... if the missus is going to whinge and moan about her hands going numb and what not, then maybe some rectification for what she could be doing wrong is needed, it looks like she gets around with her hands on your tank all the time, even when cruising at 100 along a straight bit of road... does she? devil's advocate here, it may not always be her, it could be how the rider handles the bike that ultimately decides how much a pillion enjoys the ride. no offence intended but as i encourage my missus to ride with me on the back as often as she likes to get the practice, i have an idea of what works and doesnt work for pillions.

as for the TLR, it'll be a lot more comfortable bum-wise for a pillion than the 954 ever will be.. And if i remember right, there's some sort of a hayabusa style pillion grab handle? im not even sure it had one, maybe i'm confusing the TLR with the Busa... :? they certainly dont lack in power either, i've a mate who had one before he upgraded to an 07 R1 and he rode the thing's tits off, even said it could wheelie in any gear (not literally) but it had enough torque to get the front up at the right time (over crests etc) even in a higher gear too, so in the right hands, a TL will give litre bikes plenty to worry about.
