Chain Lube, what do you use?

Postby Vukie » Thu May 17, 2007 8:59 am

Hey guys as the title suggest just wanted to know what you use.

I have a can of PJ21 and used it on the old bike, when i picked up the 636 it had a sort of white wax type lube on the chain anyone know what it is or where i can get it? didt ask the dealer but i think it might be like a dirt bike chain lube

My fave would have to be the Belray stuff. Tried Motul and Sikolene in the past.

Less fling and sprays on white which helps ensure a nice even cover when lubing.

Chain lube for modern chains is a misnomer (I've always wanted to use that word in a sentence :P ).

That's because they are now internally lubricated and do not really require any external lubrication. Unfortunately you do need to apply something to seal out the moisture (the dreaded 'rusty chain' syndrome) For this purpose I use my own secret formulation of Teflon, furniture polish and avgas (ex chemical engineer by trade, don't ask).
Motorcycle's are inherently unstable...

Motal Factory Chain Lube. It doesn't seem to fling off, it almost looks like the waxy stuff that comes with a new chain.
