CDI mods-GPZ600R CDI fits the GT550.

Digging through the garage today and found a couple of old CDIs lying around that I had forgotten about- GPZ600R and GPZ400R. Thought to myself 'they look just like the GT550 CDI' and sure enough both plug in and run.
I have had an intermittent miss in the GT that I have been struggling to find. Suspecting the CDI I have swapped it with the GPZ600R one. Seems to run harder. I'm guessing the rev limit would be much higher too- revved the GT well into redline without cutting out. I haven't ridden the GT enough to see if it is the CDI yet. A fuel line split while I was out today- maybe it was that too. Lucky I carry some fuel line in the panniers. 8)
What concerns me is that the GPZ CDI would have a different advance curve to the GT one, and the rev limiter would be much higher too. Anyone got any ideas on this one, or opinions? TIA! :D
2 X ZRX1200R 4 X ER6N, GT550, 1988 ZX-10, 4 X GPZ250R, 4 X GPZ900R and GPZ750R :) Yeah I like Kawasakis.

Hey it's quite possible totally different styles of bike.

p.s. i'd still avoid taking the engine into the red, kinda just doesnt sit well with me.

Then again the GPX750 redlines at 11500 with the stock igniter box, but using a race tacho the engine will reliably go to 13krpm or so...
