Master cyclinder rebuild kits - where to get 'em?

A mate just rebuilt the master cylinder on his bandit 1200 using a cheap, simple kit. It made a huge difference to his front brakes, they're amazing. Mine, on the other hand are strong, but only after a bloody good pull on the lever.

I was wondering if there's anywhere local to get these for a 97 9R? I can import a kit from the states for $28US but I'm not completely sure it's not the rear master cylinder they're selling so I'd prefer to talk to somebody local even if it costs a bit more to make sure I'm getting the right gear.

This is the kit I'm talking about: http://www.cyclepages.com/ProductDetail ... ID=4016213

take it to any reputable brake parts shop, they should be able to match up all the components (2 seals maybe) and you'll be right as rain

Someone might be able to help with a 'local' place, if you could put your location in your profile, we would know where local is .

:D

I have taken the odd m/cyl into places like Better Brakes, and they have been able to do a hone and replace piston seals without any trouble......most m/cyl's have pistons of either 1/2" or 5/8" diameter, so the seal sizes are very common.....

Its the hone that makes the difference. If you can take your m/cyl down to a local brake place, see if they can help you....
