Getting a towbar on your car

Postby Stereo » Sat Jan 27, 2007 6:44 am

Hey guys, is it easy to get a tow bar put on your car? Is it something you can do yourself? Are they expensive?

tow bars are generally easy to put on , the bolt holes are usuallt right there so when you have the correct tow bar for your vehicle then its a bolt on

then you need to add the plug to the wiring and in a lot of cases there is a spare connector to plug into at the rear of the car

are they expensive ? imho yes , but of course depends on what brand you buy and where you buy it from

if you have a common as dogshit falcadore then try ebay or your local wreckers

The Hayman Reese bar on my Hyundai Excel cost me $150, after phoning around- some places wanted up to $300 for the same bar! Easy to fit- bolted straight up. :D Cost another $20 or so for the wiring and plug from Supercheap. The dude stung me $10 for the towball too- they are a bit cheaper too at Supercheap. :?

Depending on the car its usually an easy job. As far as i know none of the post 1998 models need any holes drilled unless you're going for a heavy duty job for towing horse floats etc.

We had one fitted to my missus Elantra this morning, cost $245 including wiring, ball shin guard and ball cover. Took them about 1.5 hours.

A mate had one fitted to a commodore wagon for about the same price.

i wouldn't be paying much more than $300 for something to suit a late model 6cylinder.

They usually aren't a hard job to do. I've done plenty over the years working in various car dealers, but for the cost of getting it fitted it was just as easy, and we had to drive there to get the bar anyway.

Had one fitted to the work Ute a couple of months ago was $450 plus
But was an extra Heavy duty kit not a standard kit
But what do I care I didn’t have to pay for it
Got to love company cars

A mate was talking to me about an idea sent to him called Joe Cell.......
Basically it produces Orgone energy
The energy is manifested as a suction force, not an explosion force. So it's an implosion not explosion and is suppose to generate up to 40% more power and no heat

Then he said imagine not having to pay for fuel to which I answered "yep it's called a Caltex Card "hehehehe

If you want to know more about Joe Cell just Google it as there is over 1,440,000 sites talking about it and we haven’t found one saying that the cell is crap yet

Get one from wrecker, just have a look at where it fits up under the wreck if you can, then take home and fit to your car.

I got a OEM hayman reece towbar for my tow car for $95 from a car wrecker, i was so surprised i asked the guy to repeat the price before i shoved the money into his hand and ran off before he could change his mind.
