how can i tell how much milage i have left on my tyres?thx

terribly difficult question..ol'chap

why?
depends on......LOTS
road temp, weather, road camber
highway/freeway or twisty stuff
the rider (heavy or light handed with throttle and brake)
pillion use, carrying stuff in bag on rack


lots of factors influence tyre life

Mostly you work it out based on YOUR experience with THOSE tyres.
Either that or you don't care - just wait till your wear down to the markers then get some new ones.

i have not been riding long enough to replace a tyre ever, i have never done so and have no experience with other tyres than what i have at the moment however i dont' know how to ride them extremely enough to find out if they are still ridable

so in generaly how deep the tread should be before i replace it?

HP..tyres have wear markers
so you don't have to check the tread depth.

when new..the wear marker is a bump deep in the tyre tread groove

when your tyre needs replacing the wear marker
is now level with what tread remains
however if you ignore this and
you keep riding and wearing out your tyre
..your tyre is unroadworthy

so replace your tyre when the wear markers are level/flush
with the tyre tread

thans smitty for the pic, so this tyre marker will be located in all the tread? or selectively? must i roll the tyre and find it?

they are not in all grooves...see pic
so yes roll bike forward (or back) and look in the tread groove
'til you spot a tread wear marker

irrespective of the brand of road tyre..they all look
pretty much the same
(and btw....are on your car tyres as well)

BTW Colonel Sanders called, he wants his chicken strips back...

on the side wall of the tyre out near the tread you will see little triangles things they tell you where the wear indicators are located.

It's a brand spanker Newee eh mate ?.

Sometimes the wear markers are a small raised section in the grooves when they are in contact with the road, toss the tyre asap. If it feels slippery, uninspiring etc any time before that toss em & buy something BETTER.

Tyre wear depends on a huge amount of things, but mostly Air pressure & the Right wrist. hth
