what is it like to run the bike without the muffler? better or worst?

sorry to revive an old thread but well im bored!
on the weekend a 6r pulled up at the natural arch (gold coast) and it only had a small dump pipe exiting just pasr the lower fairing
the bike looked to be an 05/06 so im asuming there may be a cat converter down there somewhere as well but this bike wasnt loud at idle and wasnt untill he opened it was it loud... this bike sounded like no other bike ive heard b4, and it was great!

Betcha it was turboed- the turbo itself does a good job of silencing the bike, at least down low, and you can do away with the muffler!
