Suspension Gurus - Victoria

Postby Ratmick » Sat Oct 14, 2006 1:37 pm

Hi all,

Colette had her 6R done by these guys in Sydney: http://www.teknikracing.com/ does anyone know of a company in Melbourne/Victoria that work along similar lines?

I found these guys in the eastern suburbs: http://www.ptr.com.au but they are Suzuki-biased, and weren't sure they could operate on a Kawasaki unless they had one to look at. Alas I wouldn't buy a Kawasaki until I was sure it could be worked on...so it's a bit of a standoff.

The guys at Teknik have said no worries to either the Z750/Z1000, so if push comes to shove I'd buy a bike in NSW and get it transported over to the Teknik guys some some remedial work....it's just a bit of a pain getting up there for a fitting as they seem to be miles from anywhere I'd normally go while in Sydney.

...could always buy a Suzuki I suppose . A big v-twin like the SV1000 does appeal in some perverse way.

thanks all.

Yeah, I'd second the suspension r us...I didn't actually buy anything off them, but the guy there seemed switched on and pretty much knew exactly what to do. I think there is a link in the sticky above...

I used Krooz Tune in Boronia.
David seems to really know what he's doing and was very well priced.

Best guy I have found is trevor Manly from Tm performance. He does all my race bikes and is very very very talented. He is also reliable and doesn't charge a lot. He can rebuild the standard stuff with new internals or complete replacement depending on what your after. He has a few tricks up his sleeve which not a lot of the other guys know how to do. Have a chat with him, tell him that Marty with the ZX6 sent you. His suspension work knocked at least a second a lap off my times at Broadford raceway.

There are really only two questions in life. 1.Which way do i go? 2.What is the lap record?

Mate, my growing days are long gone.

It's hereditary, my mum is shorter than Colette. My eldest is the size of a 9-10yo...which would be ok, except he's 14. He's on growth hormone now and has grown 50mm in six months...unfortunately it's too late for me (otherwise it'd be one for him, one for me).

They're predicting 175cm for him at the end of his growth, a good 10cm taller than he was going to be before they decided to give it to him. 10cm taller than his dad as well...bastard.
