You can make anything fit if your keen enough, I have seen some big things squeesaed in some little places

I am sure someone here is familiar with those years, but good chance they will be a little different. Until it turns up it will all be conjecture.
When you sit it in you will find out what spacers/offsets you will need.

Too recent for both. Smitty cut his teeth on the Kawasakisaurus Zeta-II back in the day of Aristotle when things were powered by the feet Flintstones-style.

Gos has had two of those, plus every second Kawasaki model between 300BC and the late 1970s.

The first guy is actually saying ........IF you have the time, patience and money you can make anything fit.

This forum also survives on the usual routine of piss taking and attempted humour but as you are new to forums it will take you time to get used to us

See the thing is 1993zx6d that the only way anyone will know this is if they have done the exact swap you are talking about
Mate the chances are VERY VERY slim, AND I know that
but I HAVE (honestly) put a lot of big motors in a lot of things that were not meant to take it.
Every one was different and there was not one that I could guess on unitl we sat the motor in where it was going to sit.
I have sat down with scale drawing and micrometres but you wont KNOW until you have a go.
IF these motors BOTH have mounts that the swingarm bolt goes through and the offsets are difference you WILL have problems, but NOT insurmountable. Engine mounts dont match, cut em out and move em or make new ones.

I honestly just cant see anyone having done the swap before so I doubt anyone will know for certain. Now if you had have said a 9 motor into a 6 or a 12 into a 7 well...

yes he is isnt he - not everyone will know the answer, you just have to wait until someone that know stumbles along

now firstly the zx6d was the forerunner to the e but the first e appeared in the 93 model year - hence the first e's would have been produced around 11/92............so yours cant be a 93 - d model.....see.

if yours is a 93, chances are its and e model and yest it will fit. check your compliance plate to confirm  should be an E1 if its manufactured anything after 11/92.

Same engine all the way through, I think. Definitely from 93 to the end (05?), and as Phil says, if it's really a 93, it's an E. Interesting factoid: the ZZR600 engine bolts into a ZXR400 ...

The E got ram air, which was the main difference. It progressively got (marginally) better suspension on the front, too.

I believe the only things to watch would be airbox and carbs swapping in an E motor into a D (keep the gear from the D), but I could be wrong. Cams might be a different grind. I've kept quiet 'cos a) I thought ol' matey would get a nice surprise when he discovers that the "new" engine's identical to his old, and b) 'cos I'm actually not 100% positive that the differences mentioned above are the only ones.

Easy way of telling an E - look for the intake in the front fairing. The E3 (11/94) got preload adjustment added to rebound, and in 98(?) they got uprated springs in the forks.
