Ok so this will prob sound stupid or like a question from a stupid person  , BUT, are there bike batteries that are sealed and can be used not in a verticle position?

I'll take a few wise cracks but please be at least mindful of answering the question...

cheers

Hey Red, do you do battery chargers at all? 12V trickle charger things or similar, to suit a total loss setup?

Me thinks we need a batery sticky, Red_Dave moderator and can answer all battery related questions. Lainie may well want to know where to get AA's in bulk at wholesale prices too :D

Neka, I'm still in batteries but not lead acid car/bike/boat batteries...

However, I still have a mate who does the Deka performance brand sealed batteries that i can get you guys prices for...

This is my place -> http://www.master-instruments.com.au

Hemi, we do a charger called the Battery Fighter. It's a fully automatic 3 stage charger and very well priced against the competition. I'll PM the details.

mate..if its a trickle style charger..u better put what u pm'd up here...i was thinking more along the lines of a battery pack jump starter thing.....

if the bikes inactive for say 6mth, would disconnecting the battery suffice??

Disconnecting a battery will eventually kill the battery. When they self discharge down to below 10.8 volts, they begin the sulphate.

Puting a maintenence charger will keep it above that level all the time.
